POTD, Taken August 19th - 30th , 2007, Day 165 - 176
....Yeah, I'm a little behind....
Memo, curled up on the stairs.
Morning sunlight through my front door.
Last year we had this bird feeder filled with sunflower seeds that got left outside that winter. The seeds went moldy. It was mildly gross. Anyway, between my front step and my neighbour's front step, there's this small garden plot (that I put in when I made my garden, because I had left over dirt/bricks), that had/has nothing planted in it. The boyfriend dumped the moldy sunflower seeds in it. I don't think we even buried most of them. Anyway, we're still talking about last year. Some of the sprouted but never got flowers. I was surprised that they grew at all. This year we had this one, lone miniature sunflower grow. I think it's pretty cute.
Looking down the stairs of my back deck. I don't know if I was trying to capture something in particular, or if I just took it for the hell of it. I like it though.
We ordered Nachos from Jessie's Pizza. They were good, but I didn't need to order a medium. I ended putting 1/2 in the fridge for later. Nachos aren't that great reheated. I mean, they were still good, but...yeah.
Literally a land of food. Okay, Not literally. It's just a grocery store that's near my house. A chain of small grocery stores, owned by...Sobey's? I think. I stopped in to buy mix for rum and cokes. I think. It was taken last Saturday, so my memory is a little fuzzy on the details...
The sun was streaming through the blinds and curtain, giving the stairs an awesome orange glow. I took 30 pictures trying to capture it, but none of them really did. This was the closest one. Oh well, you know what they say, nothing ventured.....
...I actually took this picture by accident when I was screwing around with my camera settings. I liked it enough to keep it and make it this day's potd..
This is as closes as he (she?) would let me get, before running away. Also, the only non-blurry photo I got of him/her. I don't know who's cat it is, but it's in my yard all the time. I don't mind, as long as they leave the garbage bags on my back deck alone...there was awhile when everyday we'd go out and something had torn it up and scattered garbage all over the deck. It was unpleasant. We assumed it was cats, because that's all that's ever in our yard that's large enough to make such a mess. Thankfully it stopped.
Listening to music on my computer. Rocking the xkcd comic as my wallpaper.
When I was hanging out clothes yesterday morning, chickadees started coming to our bird feeder. The bird feeder I was standing (at most) 6 feet from. It's not the first time it's happened, but it always makes me kind of giddy and excited anyway. I was able to get a few pictures, but I wasn't able to get any closer without them flying away instantly this was the closest I could zoom in on them (having only 3x optical zoom..). Also, I tried to brighten the photo up with photoshop, but it made it worse, so I kept the original. I need to play around with photoshop more...maybe do a tutorial or two online...Anyway, that's not the point. The point is, chickadees are pretty awesome.
There! all caught up!
